Description

Hana contraceptive is a reliable form of birth control that provides over 99% efficacy in preventing unintended pregnancy. It is easy to use and designed to offer greater control and convenience. Hana provides a safe and secure solution for long-term fertility control.

Directions

For optimal contraceptive efficacy, it is vital to take one Hana tablet every day at the same time, without any breaks between packs. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. It is recommended to establish a consistent daily routine for taking the tablet, such as linking it to an existing daily habit. For instance, taking it upon waking up or during your toothbrushing routine. Whether you experience bleeding or spotting, continue taking Hana daily as prescribed. Each pack of Hana contains 28 tablets, labeled with the days of the week and arrows indicating the order of consumption. When starting a new pack, always begin with the tablet labeled for the corresponding day. Even if you experience bleeding or spotting, continue taking the tablets without interruption.

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Hana 75 microgram film-coated tablets is desogestrel, a progestogen hormone. These tablets are free from estrogen hormone, distinguishing them as progestogen-only pills. It's important to note that Hana tablets also contain lactose (milk sugar). If you have a known intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor before using Hana.

Side Effects

As with any medication, Hana may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects that may affect up to 1 in 10 women include changes in mood, such as a depressed mood or altered mood, reduced sexual drive (libido), headaches, nausea, acne, breast pain, irregular or absent periods, and changes in body weight. Uncommon side effects affecting up to 1 in 100 women comprise vaginal infections, challenges with wearing contact lenses, vomiting, hair loss, painful periods, ovarian cysts, and fatigue. If you notice any unwanted effects, particularly if they are severe or persistent, it is advisable to consult your pharmacist, doctor, or family planning nurse for guidance.

Warnings

Before initiating Hana, it's crucial to consider certain factors and consult your healthcare professional if applicable:
Do Not Take Hana:
If you have certain types of cancer affected by sex-steroid hormones, such as breast, ovarian, or endometrial cancer.
If you have a history of blood clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism).
If you have jaundice or severe liver diseases with abnormal liver function tests.
If you experience unexplained vaginal bleeding between periods or post-sex bleeding.

If you are pregnant or suspect you might be pregnant.
Warnings and Precautions:
Discuss with your healthcare provider if you have a history of cancer, blood clots, liver problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, tuberculosis, or chloasma.
Be aware that changes in bleeding patterns, including absence of periods, may occur while taking Hana.
Understand that Hana does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or HIV.
Notify your doctor if you experience depressive symptoms, as hormonal contraceptives, including Hana, have been associated with mood changes.
Seek medical attention for severe leg pain, chest pain, breathlessness, or signs of ectopic pregnancy (sudden severe abdominal pain).
If you experience vomiting or severe diarrhea within 3-4 hours of taking Hana, consider the pill "missed" and follow appropriate instructions.
Be cautious of potential interactions with other medications, including those for epilepsy, tuberculosis, HIV, fungal infections, depression, and certain bacterial infections. Consult your pharmacist or doctor.
